Ooty
has been the hot spot destination amongst film makers with people being
a witness to the splendor of the place in movies, since long. As a

hills. Also known by various names like Udhamadalam and Ootacamund, Ooty

Dodabetta Peak is the highest summit in the entire district and provides a spectacular panoramic view of the valley. The art and history lovers can go for a stroll to the Government Museum, which showcases tribal artifacts, district's ecological details and representative sculptural arts and crafts of Tamil Nadu. Last but not the least, the St Stephen's Church located here, is one of the oldest churches in Nilgiris and attracts tourists because of its beautiful glass paintings.
How to Reach
By Air: The nearest airport is located at Coimbatore, which lies at a distance of around 100 km from Ooty. There are regular flights from here to major cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, etc.
By Rail: The Ooty railway station is a small junction, around 2 km from the city. The 'Nilgiri toy train' connects it to Mettupalayam, which is the nearest broad-gauge railway station. Coimbatore is the major broad-gauge junction, nearby.
By Road: Ooty has a well maintained network of roads, which link it to major cities in the state and the country. Good motorable roads and regular bus service make Ooty quite accessible for tourists.
