MDLR Airlines is a recent entrant in the civil aviation industry of India. It is a low-cost domestic airline, founded and owned by Murli Dhar Lakh Ram (MDLR) Group, which has established its name in the field of real estate development in India. The Group has its business in commercial as well as residential real estate development. Over the years, the company has constructed shopping malls, residential colonies and group housing projects, resorts, restaurants, apart from the launch of MDLR Airlines. Headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana, the airline started its operations on March 14, 2007. Gopal Goyal is the chairperson of the domestic carrier. With a company slogan 'Luxury In The Air', MDLR Airlines aims to provide world-class facilities to its passengers onboard, at very affordable air fare. The airline ensures all-round comfort for its passengers. It provides sumptuous vegetarian meal, onboard. In addition to this, the airline provides the option of chartered flights for private or business use, to domestic as well as international destinations. The Reward Program announced by the carrier has gained attention. Destinations And Fleet
MDLR Airlines operates scheduled flights to seven destinations within India. These include Chandigarh, Delhi, Goa, Kullu (Himachal Pradesh), Jamshedpur and Ranchi (Jharkhand), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) and Kolkata. The fleet of the airline consists of three aircrafts, all of them being Avro RJ70. The three variants of the aircraft, plied by the airline, are VT-MDL, VT-MDM and VT-MDN. The aircraft has a seating capacity of 70 passengers - 64 seats in Economy Class and 6 seats in Club Class. The carrier provides very comfortable seats in both economy and club class. The airline plans to purchase Sukhoi Superjet 100, which is a modern, fly-by-wire regional jet.
