Austrian Airlines

Austrian Airlines is the international airlines of Austria. Its headquarters is in Austria and its main hub is Vienna International Airport. Austrian Airlines dominates the skies over Central and Eastern Europe. Austrian Airlines Group consists of three partners: Austrian, Lauda Air and Austrian arrows. The focus of Austrian is on scheduled traffic, Austrian arrows specialises in regional business, while Lauda Air flies chartered flights.

Austrian Airlines was founded on September 30, 1957 through the merger of Air Austria and Austrian Airways. The airlines made its maiden flight on March 18, 1958 when a Vickers Viscount 779 took off from Vienna for London, England. Austrian Airlines began its transatlantic services on April 1, 1969 when it flew from Vienna to New York in co-operation with Sabena.

Austrian Airlines has a modern fleet with an average age of 7.6 years. As of April 2006 the Austrian Airlines fleet (including Lauda Air) consisted of: 7 Airbus A319-100 (Austrian livery), 8 Airbus A320-200, 3 Airbus A321-100, 3 Airbus A321-200 , 4 Airbus A330-200, 2 Airbus A340-200, 1 Boeing 737-600, 2 Boeing 737-700, 6 Boeing 737-800, 6 Boeing 767-300, 3 Boeing 777-200, and 3 Fokker 70.

Presently, Austrian serves together with their partners Lauda Air and Austrian arrows 130 destinations in 66 countries on 5 continents. In India, Austrian Airlines flies to Delhi.
