Cocktail Party Decorations |
Cocktail party decorations should be extremely
stylish and require loads of zing to look sophisticated. However, it is
not that difficult to get that ambience for a cocktail party. To keep
yourself focused on one track, choose a theme for your party decoration.
It could be something as simple as a color combination like classic
black and white. Though it sounds ordinary, the sharp contrast between
the two colors can lend a very sophisticated touch to your cocktail
party décor. For further cocktail party decoration ideas, read
on.
- In case the cocktail party is at your home, go for a relaxed
ambience. Select your table linen in soft pastel shades, put up a
floral centerpiece, light some candles, play soft music in the
background, set the bar and you are ready to rock! Make comfortable
arrangement for sitting. Spread rugs on the floor and arrange lots
of cushions.
- For a soft ambience, go for lava lamps. Cocktail parties are
incomplete without lava lamps. Alternatively, light some candles
here and there to give a mystic look to the place. Dim the lights
and if you want, you can arrange a small bar right in the center of
the room. It makes a larger-than-life centerpiece!
- Have at least 3-4 types of drinks for your guests. This means you
should have a good stock of wines, hard liquor, juices and soda.
Have a huge stock of ice for your guests. You will need them for
drinks and to cool champagne and liquor bottles. Finger foods are
the best bet for your party.
- If you plan to have more than 20 people for your party, it would
be a good idea to hire a bartender and a caterer for your party.
That way, you can also relax and not worry about food and drinks
being served properly or not.
- Do not keep decorations for the last minute. Make sure you finish
95% of the decorations 2 days before the party. You wouldn't want to
rush to the store at the last minute searching for streamers and
buntings. Stick to your theme and keep the decorations minimal yet
elegant. If you are hosting the party in a bar, tell them your
requirements and give them a budget. Most importantly, keep the décor
comfortable yet stylish.
