How To Reach Mussoorie

There are plenty of local transportation options too, once you reach the city. Other than local buses and taxis, you can also opt for cycle rickshaws or horse riding to commute in and around Mussoorie. Traveling To Mussoorie

By Air

Mussoorie doesn't have an airport of its own. Therefore, the only option left for travelers is to use Jolly Grant airport, which is located 60 km off Mussoorie. Jolly Grant airport, located in Dehradun is well connected to Delhi by regular flights. Once you reach the airport, you can hire taxis or private cabs to reach the hill station. The taxi drivers usually charge around Rs 1500/-. Also, there are regular buses connecting Mussoorie from the airport.

By Rail
There is no direct railway link as such in Mussoorie and hence, one has to avail Dehradun Railway Station to reach Mussoorie by train. This station is approximately 34 km away from the hill resort. Several super fast trains connect metros to Dehradun railway station. From there, you can either opt for bus or taxi to reach Mussoorie. The important trains servicing Dehradun railway station are Link Express, Gorakhpur Express, Indore Express, Howrah Express, Amritsar Fast Passenger, Mussoorie Express, Jan Shatabdi Express, Shatabdi Express, Mumbai Express, Ujjain Express, Upasana Express, Janta Express, Dehradun Express and Uttaranchal Express.

By Road
Mussoorie has an excellent network of roadways and is well connected to the major cities of Delhi, Haridwar, Dehradun, and Rishikesh by bus services. Many state transportation buses ply back and forth from Mussoorie. The ticket fare is priced reasonably and varies depending on the location and the distance. From Delhi and other nearby towns, you can hire taxis and private cabs to reach the hill station.

Local Transportation
Within Mussoorie, there is plethora of local transportation modes available. Thus, touring or going for sightseeing is never an ordeal here. Besides local buses and taxis, you can opt for horse riding to commute within the city. To cover short distances, hire a cycle rickshaw that is another popular mode of transport here. Though the chances of you getting duped by drivers are less, it's always better to put your bargaining skills to the optimum use.
