Personal Life
Dipak .C. Jain was born on June, 9, 1957, in a small town in Assam, called Tezpur. He started his early education in Rastrabhasa Hindi School at Tezpur. Then he went to Darrang College, Tezpur, from where he earned his graduation in statistics and mathematics in the year 1976. Later in 1978 he obtained a Master's degree in statistics from Gauhati University. After completing his master's he taught at the Gauhati University for almost five years. Then he went to United Sates of America to pursue his PhD in marketing from the University of Texas, Dallas. Dipak is happily married and has three children namely, Kalash, Muskaan and Dhwani.

Career
Dipak .C. Jain is the Dean of INSEAD, an international business school and research centre situated in Fontainebleau, France. He was also a former Dean of the reputed Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He served as Dean at the Kellogg School of Management for almost thirteen years and finally stepped down in September 2009 to spend more time with his family and on his teaching job. However he got an opportunity from INSEAD and has been serving the organization from March 2011. Dipak is also a Sandy and Morton Goldman Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies and is also a professor of Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management. In addition to this, Dipak is a visiting professor at a number of prestigious management schools around the world. With more than 20 years of experience in teaching and management Dipak is one of the most respectable educationists around.

Deepak's areas of interest and research are market segmentation, competitive market structure analysis, marketing of high-tech products, new product diffusion, cross-culture issues in global product diffusion and forecasting models. He has published more than fifty articles that revolve around his areas of his expertise.

Apart from his teaching job, Dipak serves as an administrator and advisor for some of the leading companies around the world. He is the Independent Director on the Board of Indian Conglomerate Reliance Industries Limited, one of the leading refineries in the world. Little Best Paper Award in 1991 and Sidney Levy Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1995.
