A sexually transmitted disease, genital warts refer
to the bumps that occur around the genital area, like anus, cervix,
penis, rectum, scrotum, vulva and vagina. Also known as condylomata
acuminate or venereal warts, they are common in youngsters above the age
of 20. Genital wart is essentially caused by Human Pappiloma Virus (HPV)
that is either flat or cauliflower shaped. Those individuals who have
many sexual partners or indulge in unsafe sex are more susceptible to

Causes Of Genital Warts
A sexually transmitted disease, genital warts spread through any form of
sexual contact with the infected person. Touching the genitals of the
infected person can also cause genital warts. An indirect cause for
genital warts is by sharing the towel with an infected person. At times,
new born babies are born with the infection only. However, the situation
is a rare one.
