Burning mouth is a painful sensation that is felt in
almost all the corners of the tongue. It is also known as scalded mouth
syndrome, burning tongue syndrome, burning lips syndrome, glossodynia
and stomatodynia. Burning tongue basically affects the tongue, gums,
lips, inside of the cheeks, roof of the mouth and other areas of the
mouth. A person affected with burning tongue loses his sense of taste
for sometime. There are numerous factors due to which burning tongue

Causes Of Burning Tongue
- Yeast infection
- Hormonal deficiency and/or abnormality

- A burning sensation, affecting tongue, lips, gums, palate, throat
or whole mouth
- A tingling or numb sensation in mouth or on the tip of tongue
- Mouth pain that worsens as the day progresses
- Dry mouth
- Increased thirst
- Sore mouth
- Loss of taste
- Taste change, such as a bitter or metallic taste
