Bronchitis is the infection that affects the bronchi
or the main airways of lungs, resulting in its inflammation. A common
phenomenon during winters, bronchitis often develops after cold, sore
throat or influenza (flu). Men, women and children all are susceptible
to the ailment. There are two types of bronchitis - acute bronchitis and
chronic bronchitis. While the former is caused by viruses or bacteria
and lasts for several days or weeks, the latter is a persistent,
productive cough that lasts for at least three months, in two
