Boils is the name of a skin disease, which causes
inflamed, pus-filled swelling, mainly due to infected hair follicles.
Boils mostly occur on the area where clothes rub against the skin or
where the body rubs against itself or where the skin is sweaty. Neck,
armpit, groin and between the buttocks are the most common places where
boils occur. It is not necessary that a boil will occur in isolation
only. Many boils may develop simultaneously as well. This condition is
known as folliculitis. Resulting in red streaks on the skin, boils may
or may not be painful. Read on to explore the causes and symptoms of
boils.
